Shahin Shahabalou
Shahin was a professional photographer who had solo and group exhibitions in Iran, India and the UK. Born and raised in Tehran, Shahin moved to the UK 10 years ago bringing his love for exploration and photography with him. Photography was his way of talking, his way of connecting and a large part of his world. It turned everyday life into an adventure, and you would often find him wandering through different parts of London looking for the unique beauty and untold stories that he saw in our streets.
Sadly, Shahin lost his life to coronavirus in early April. The work shown here includes a couple of images from his time in London but focuses on some of his award-winning photography from Iran including a striking series of photographs capturing a burial ceremony in the south of the country.
